Juan De Dios Constantino Lara

New Executive Director!

We are pleased to share the exciting news that Juan De Dios Constantino Lara will serve as the new Executive Director of La Casa de Amistad. Juan, who has served on the team of La Casa since 2016 will start his new role on September 16th, 2021.

Juan has been a dedicated member of our team, starting as a Programming Assistant, he lead the launch of critical advocacy programs throughout the region like the South Bend ID program, worked to roll out our #NoHumanBeingIsIllegal campaign, and expanded our reach to Goshen, Elkhart, and Plymouth to obtain their own city ID programs.

As our Director of Development, he was an instrumental part of the success of our $3.25M El Sueño Campaign to purchase, fundraise, and renovate our new 41,000 square foot facility. He has risen to every task, been methodical in his support of our mission, and focused on serving as an advocate for the community.

“Choosing the next Executive Director was not an easy task. The board of directors worked hard to find the right mix of talent, experience, and passion… and we found those in Juan. We are confident that our team will support him, as he continues to grow the impact of our programs, improve our facilities, and expand the reach of our center.”
– Felix Bueno, Chairmen of the Board of La Casa de Amistad

“We train our youth to become leaders in our community. Juan is one of our own. We’ve molded him into who we expect our students to be. We know the community will embrace him in this new role as he has faced the same challenges as the people we serve. We look forward to his leadership and energy.”
– Rodolfo “Rudy” Monterrosa – Founding Attorney of the Monterrosa Law Group | Board member of La Casa de Amistad

As the regional Latinx and immigrant focused center, La Casa is the most comprehensive center of its kind in the region, and one of few in the Midwest. Since our founding in 1973, we have offered programs like a bilingual preschool, youth programs, social services, ID programs, immigration legal, adult programs, citizenship classes, and a wide range of advocacy support. We are confident that Juan will help fuel the future growth and success of La Casa de Amistad.

La Casa de Amistad, its Board of Directors, team members, and the community we serve are excited to welcome Juan to his new role.
